North & South vs. Pride & Prejudice

In spite of all the differences: society, manners, tone and context, North and South's love story very much reminds me of Pride and Prejudice. The two protagonists form a distorted opinion about each other, she (Margaret Hale) despises him, he (John Thornton) falls for her, proposes to her, she rejects him, he's upset but reconsiders his behavior due to her influence, then she falls for him, being concerned about his supposedly bad opinion of her, then he saves her reputation, there seems to be no chance for them to be together but, finally, they reveal their true feelings and live happily ever after. Very nice movie, recommended for those who enjoy Victorian England adaptations.
